History & Mission
The Affordable Housing Study Commission recommends
improvements to public policy to stimulate community development and
revitalization and to promote the production, preservation and maintenance of
safe, decent and affordable housing for all Floridians.
Strategies for Accomplishing the Mission:
- Encouraging public-private partnerships and governmental
coordination
- Identifying opportunities to streamline state, regional and local regulations
affecting the affordability of housing
- Advocating development strategies which comprehensively address the housing,
economic and social needs of individuals
- Advocating the provision of increased technical and financial resources
- Promoting research on affordable housing issues
- Educating the public and government officials to understand and appreciate the
benefits of affordable housing
